80th D-Day Anniversary Celebrations are happening over the 8-9 June on the historic former WWII airfield HMS Daedalus, Lee on the Solent; a significant place in the part of this anniversary as it was the single busiest airfield on D-Day with 435 sorties.
A family event for all to enjoy with a living history area for re-enactors to attend for the public to come, see and learn about WWII military equipment, services and it’s history, there will also be Static Aircraft, Flying Display with part portraying the history of the airfield including a Parachute Drop, Music, Field Gun Runs, Marching Bands, Funfair, Motorcycles Stunts, Period Vehicles and an Emporium. Each day will be slightly different with its attractions.
