Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

About

Discover legendary ships, fascinating galleries and unique artefacts at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the only place in the world where you can explore over 500 years of maritime history.

Travel back in time to 16th century England at the Mary Rose and learn about the lives of the 500 men who lived, worked and died on board Henry VIIIs favourite ship. See the largest collection of Tudor artefacts in the world recovered from the seabed in one of the most challenging archaeological excavations of all time.

Peek behind the scenes of HMS Victory to gain a fascinating insight into the work of specialist shipwrights by visiting one of the biggest conservation projects The National Museum of the Royal Navy has ever undertaken.

Marvel at the sheer scale of HMS Warrior, the largest and fastest of all Royal Navy ships that dominated Queen Victoria’s Black Battlefleet. Catch a glimpse of the Round-Britain tour brought to life by the Victorian characters on board.

Put your speed and agility to the test in the newly reopened, fun-packed Action Stations.

Take the waterbus to Gosport to walk the narrow confines of HMS Alliance at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum or wander around the new permanent gallery at the Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower.

With an Ultimate Explorer ticket, you can visit now and keep coming back for the whole year – book online to save on your ticket.
