Dorset's Jurassic Coast features some of the most magnificent landscape and views in the UK.  Given UNESCO World Heritage status in 2001 this beautiful coastline full of rocks, fossils, unique landforms and landscapes is a photographers dream.  With wonderful walks, stunning views and breath-taking natural beauty it is easy to see why the Dorset coastline features in so many South East, South West days out.

Durdle Door is just a short walk from the idyllic coastal village of Lulworth and is one of the most recognisable features of this unforgettable coastline. The climb from Lulworth Cove is repaid by a stunning view ranging from the Isle of Portland in the west to St. Aldhelm's Head to the east near Swanage.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole link South East England to the South West, providing the gateway to the Jurassic coastline. With fifteen miles of golden sands and sparkling seas, these three towns make for a  fantastic holiday destination.

The vibrant cosmopolitan town of Bournemouth has it all, two piers, a vast array of tourism attractions, shops, restaurants and holiday accommodation including seafront hotels, quality B&Bs, a vibrant nightlife and endless countryside with beautiful award-winning gardens and watersports galore.

The neighbouring towns of Christchurch and Poole also have stunning sandy beaches, are rich in history and heritage and have lots of places to stay.  They provide great opportunities to pick up a boat trip and start your exploration of the Jurassic coast from the water, enjoy beautiful sunsets over the habour and quayside or head out on foot and explore.

Broadchurch

The hit TV drama series Broadchurch starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman was filmed in West Bay in the west of Dorset not bar from Bridport.

The striking cliffs and beach now synonymous with the series have become popular with visiting tourists. There are a selection of B&Bs and camspites in keeping with the character of Broadchurch that millions of viewers have become familiar and fallen in love with.

South West Coast Path

Other places to visit along the South West Coast Path for seaside holidays include Lyme Regis, Bridport, Weymouth and Swanage. And don't forget to visit the swans at Abbotsbury! If walking is more your thing, just follow the acorn signs and become mesmerised by one of the world's best places to ramble as recommended by Lonely Planet.
