About

Towner, the contemporary art museum, presents a unique programme of major exhibitions of contemporary and historic visual art alongside displays from the internationally renowned Towner Collection.

Towner's new home in the heart of the vibrant Cultural Quarter has repositioned its exhibitions and activities where they can be enjoyed by all. The new gallery occupies a dramatic site set back from the town's seafront, with stunning views of the South Downs. Towner is fully accessible and includes exhibition galleries of an international standard, activity and meeting rooms, café bar, shop and large-scale exhibition and conference halls.

In addition to inspiring and thought-provoking exhibitions, Towner offers a programme of talks and events, as well as workshops for children and families.

Towner welcomes families to drop in at any time on Saturdays and Sundays, when art materials and learning packs are provided free of charge for use in the gallery's activity spaces.

ACCESSIBILITY
All areas of Towner are acccessible. There is a lift to all floors.
Manual wheelchairs can be provided for visitors with mobility difficulties.
Assistance dogs welcome.
Magnifying glasses and large print versions of our brochures, exhibition guides and artwork labels are available from the welcome desk.
Baby changing facilities in male & female toilets.
Cloakroom available at the welcome desk.

Parking: There are 7 blue badge holder spaces in the car park next to Towner.

Road Directions

Towner is 10 minute walk / 5 minute taxi ride from Eastbourne station. Follow Gildredge Road, cross over South Street and Furness Road, and continue on to College Road. Towner is situated at the end of the road at the left, where College Road meets Carlisle Road.
