The Congress Theatre is Grade II* listed designed and built in 1958, this purpose built theatre and conference venue is located in the heart of Eastbourne, within a 10-minute walk of the Eastbourne railway station. Opened in 1963, it's modernist architectural style similar to building like the National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London, provides a spacious welcoming theatre.

With a seating capacity of 1689 it is one of the largest theatres on the south coast.  It was extensively renovated in 2016-2019 as part of the Devonshire Quarter project, and merges its original stylish, modernist look with contemporary technical facilities.

The theatre is well-known for hosting touring West End shows, comedy, music, and ballet.

The theatre has a licensed bar and cloakroom facilities and visitors can take advantage of free car parking in the evenings at the nearby College Road.

Located in Compton Street, just yards from the seafront Wish Tower area and 10 mins walk from the railway station. Follow theatre signs. The theatre has a pay and display car park in College Rd (free of charge in the evenings). There is also a limited amount of free on street parking.
