Farnham Pottery lies just a short distance from the centre of Farnham, situated in the heart of the Surrey Hills. The pottery is example of a Victorian country pottery with charming architectural features that have been preserved and resorted. The potters of the day were celebrated for their skills in making ornate chimney pots, window frames and archways. Today it plays a key role in the history of pottery and is currently thriving as a national hub for local artists, providing craft opportunities to a community of over 400 makers.
The pottery runs a series of courses for all ages and abilities to enjoy, whether you want to learn the basics of the pottery process, from making, turning and glazing, to developing your ceramics knowledge. One-off workshops are great for visitors to the area, giving the chance to get your hands dirty and give it a go.
The in-house pottery shop sells a range of work from local artists, all produced with their own unique personality, whilst the popular cafe offers homemade cakes, breakfast and lunch and is a great stopping point for a visit to the Surrey countryside.
