West's Wood Fair is an event featuring the many interesting ways in which wood is used.
We have over 100 exhibitors including trade stands selling timber and many other wood-related products, demonstrations of sawmilling, pole lathes, and hurdle making.
In the arenas we have our chainsaw race and heavy horse logging demonstrations. Take a tractor and trailer ride into the depths of the forest, have a go at axe throwing, archery, spear throwing or the log roll. Stop by the kids corner for face painting, den building, mud kitchens and games. If your feeling lucky there's lots of competitions or races going on over the weekend like our Sussex Scrumpy Stakes, Timber Identification Challenge or Guess the Cubic Foot of the tree, all of which are free to enter.
This year will be our 8th wood fair and we have even more in store for you, including our new Crazy Croquet, Paint Your Own Totem Pole, Lawnmower Racing, I'm A Lumberjack Get Me Out Of Here and Horse Carriage Rides, plus many of our annual events will be returning like our Chainsaw Carving Competition
The Woodturners Rest will open its doors again with a large selection of locally made real ales to choose from, there will be plenty of food on offer and live music throughout the day and evening.
Entry on Friday is half price as some activities and exhibitors wont be present, please check our website for more information.
