This 13th century Liturgical Drama is, in effect, a plainchant 'opera' dealing with the Prophet Daniel and Balshazzar in Babylon and, again, the Prophet Daniel and Balshazzar's Persian successor. We have the incident of the 'writing on the wall' and the incident of Daniel thrust into the lions' den. It is largely sung in Latin but the witty Narratrix will keep everyone up-to-date and informed throughout. There will be an interval.
