Houghton Lodge

About

Houghton Lodge is the finest surviving example in England of an 18th century Cottage Orné.

Idyllically situated above the River Test it exemplifies the “picturesque” genre of the late 1700s. The symbiosis of landscape, garden, aspects, views and historic house meld in total harmony.

There is a quintessential walled garden with a heritage orchard, peony and rose arbour, iris, hosta and cutting beds, explore further to discover the oriental garden, rose garden and 14 acres of riverside walks with Alpacas and Sheep.  No wonder it has been called by our many appreciative visitors ‘the jewel of the Test valley’.

The Glass House is an exciting tea room and event space at Houghton Lodge Gardens. The Glass House offers fantastic coffee, freshly baked treats, and a selection of freshly prepared breakfast and lunch options. Please see their website for opening times www.glasshousestockbridge.co.uk
