LUCIA MEETS ALICE! A CELEBRATION OF THE STORIES CREATED BY EF BENSON AND LEWIS CARROLL

Readings from E.F. Benson's Mapp and Lucia stories with songs and poems inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland brought to life by actors, poets and musicians. Benson lived and wrote in Lamb House while Lewis Carroll created his stories for Alice Liddell at nearby Peasmarsh Place.
Join us for an exciting afternoon of dramatic readings and music performed by actors, poets and musicians celebrating the works of much-loved authors connected with Rye. The special event on Thursday 24th October 2024 is a collaboration between SDPF and the National Trust. It features West End and Chichester Festival Theatre actress Paula Tinker, acclaimed poet and songwriter Barry Smith together with David Glasson, the keyboardist for the BonzoBills and associate of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.
Programme: 2pm Doors open. 2.30pm Sussex poems and songs from Lewis Carroll's Alice performed by Barry Smith and David Glasson 3.15pm Interval 3.30pm Extracts from Benson's Mapp and Lucia stories performed by Paula Tinker with musical interludes by David Glasson. 4.15pm Time to explore Lamb House before it closes at 5pm.
