Opening from Autumn 2022 - Sea Lanes, Brighton
This autumn a brand new National Open Water Swimming Centre of Excellence will open in Brighton. Located on Madeira Drive which stretches from Brighton Palace Pier to Brighton Marina, this development will take place at the former Peter Pan site. The centre of the Sea Lanes development is a 50m outdoor swimming pool which will help to revive competitive and recreational sea-swimming on Brighton Seafront.
Accessible to all, the site will be operated by South Downs Leisure and will see the creation of 100 new jobs. Work has begun on the open water swimming centre with the construction of 24 small business units which will support the pool. These are planned to open Autumn 2022, with the main pool opening in spring 2023.
The pool will provide much needed swimming facilities in Brighton and will act as a gateway for those looking to gain the confidence to swim in the sea, as well as a training hub for open water swimming events, triathlon, sea safety and lifeguard courses.
