About

Discover one of Berkshire's best wildlife walks at Dorney Wetlands. Situated between Slough and Dorney on the banks of the Jubilee River, Dorney Wetlands is a beautiful 43-hectare nature reserve that offers a peaceful retreat into nature. Created as part of the Jubilee River flood-relief scheme, the wetlands were designed to provide valuable habitats for wildlife and have become one of the area's most rewarding destinations for birdwatching, walking and cycling.

The reserve is a mosaic of reed beds, wet grasslands, woodland and open water, providing feeding and breeding grounds for a wide variety of bird species throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy scenic riverside walks, dedicated wildlife viewing screens and tranquil waterside viewpoints, all while experiencing the changing seasons of this important natural landscape.

Whether you're hoping to spot kingfishers, swans and wading birds, enjoy a family walk in the fresh air or simply escape for a few hours of tranquillity, Dorney Wetlands is a hidden gem that combines nature, wildlife and accessible outdoor recreation.

  • Much of the Jubilee River path is flat and well surfaced.
  • Many sections are suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and pushchairs.
  • Some secondary paths, viewing areas and grassland sections may become uneven or muddy during wet weather. Visitors with mobility requirements should be aware that conditions can vary seasonally.
