A royal craft brewery for a royal town, with multi award-winning beers of every style.
For hundreds of years, Windsor was famous for the quality and consistency of its beers but all that came to a stop in 1931 with the closure of the of last brewery. In 2010 we brought craft brewing back to the heart of Windsor and our beers have won over 70 international, national, regional and local awards. Craft beer is a truly global movement and we’ve created collaborative brews with other independent breweries all round the world. Here in Windsor, we work with many local businesses and charities and in 2018 we were awarded a royal warrant to supply beer to the Queen.
Ever wondered how the beer is made? Want to know the stories behind our beers? Want to taste a range of different beers? If so, then our brewery tours are for you. They are fun, friendly, and informative, rating 5* on TripAdvisor and 4.9* on Google. We host our brewery tours at 12:30 & 15:00 every Saturday. Your brewery guide will tell you about the history of brewing in the town and how Windsor & Eton grew from an idea to brewing one and a half million pints a year. You will sample raw ingredients as well as finished beers and be shown round the brew house to see and smell the beer at every stage of the brewing process.
Booking is essential, to check availability and to book your place visit our website.
For many years, we’ve screened the 6 Nations rugby – the atmosphere is very special as fans of all nations cheer on their teams. Throughout the year we have live music, pub quizzes, comedy, and much more. Check out our events page on our website for full schedule.
Newly opened in the Autumn of 2021 our taproom is located alongside our brewery. With up to 22 different beers on tap and even more in cans, it’s the perfect place to try the widest range of beers. You can enjoy copper-coloured bitters, hoppy IPAs, tangy pale ales, refreshing lagers and weird and wonderful speciality styles freshly brewed by us alongside guest beers and ciders. The bar is also fully stocked with a wide range of gins, spirits, wines, soft drinks and teas and coffees.
We’ve a shop packed full of take-home items including beer, glasses, clothing and gift packs.
Our on-site kitchen can cater for brunch, lunch, dinner, and light bites as well as larger groups and buffets. With teas & coffee and free wi-fi, the Unit 4 Taproom makes a great place to hot desk and meet clients.
The Taproom can seat up to 160 people while upstairs the Mezzanine is available for private hires for up to 30 people for a sit-down meal, buffet or private party space to celebrate a special occasion or work drinks.
There is a long tradition of making beers to celebrate important events. We’ve made beer for many Windsor occasions including Magna Carta 800 (we are the nearest brewery to Runnymede), the 2012 Olympics (the rowing events were held on Dorney Lake), the Royal Weddings of William and Kate and Harry and Meghan and a commemorative beer celebrating the life of Prince Philip.
To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we have brewed a special Platinum Pale ale called CASTLE HILL. It’s platinum pale in colour and brewed with locally grown Royal Farm barley, New Zealand hops and champagne yeast. Available in bottle and on tap, CASTLE HILL makes a very special souvenir for any visit to Windsor.
From April 2022, we will have a display in the brewery of these and many more of our special event beers.
