Sissinghurst is a small village in the county of Kent and was originally called Milkhouse Street before changing its name in the 1850s.

The village is situated in Cranbrook was for centuries a meeting and resting place for people travelling towards the south coast, it's nearest railway station is at Staplehurst 

Sissinghurt has been home to number of famous people in the past including BBC's Have I Got News For You Ian Hislop.

Things to do in Sissinghurst

The village is home to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens with the garden laid out by novelist Vita Sackville-West and diplomat Harold Nicolson.

It is just as beautiful today and the castle has plenty of events for you and your family to enjoy throughout the year.

Trinity Church is the parish church of Sissinghurst and It stands on the main street running through the village.
