Schubert: Quartet in D minor, D. 810, 'Death and the Maiden'
This world-renowned group presents three string quartet masterpieces.
Mozart dedicated his wonderful E-flat quartet to his friend Joseph Haydn, the undisputed master of quartet-writing.
Smetana's raw and profoundly personal second quartet is a diary of his last years struggling with deafness, whilst Schubert's 'Death and the Maiden' is rightly famous for its glorious melodies.
