Campfire Heritage Stories

About

Listen to stories from members our community whose heritage comes from further afield.

Come and listen to a collection of stories told by community representatives about how they have come to be in Buckinghamshire and how their communities have become firmly established as part of the beautiful county.
Storytellers are Karen Bonner, who is Chief Nurse at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and a descendent of the Windrush generation, and Elizabeth Dench, Sejal Sechdav and BJ Tailor who were born in Jamaica, Uganda and Kenya respectively.
Weather permitting; the storytelling will happen around a campfire adding both atmosphere and warmth! Visitors will have the chance to share some of their own stories and toast marshmallows.
Oral Historian and Audio Producer, Jonathan Kempster, will be recording our Heritage Stories to add to our growing library of recorded histories.
Seating will be on a first come, first served basis, and standing space will be limited.
"It's fantastic. I learnt about heritage, community, love and support. Very inspirational. I was really impressed. The atmosphere was amazing!" Audience member, Campfire Heritage Stories, 2021
Recordings and images from last year's Campfire Stories can be found at
