Hook Norton Brewery

About

The brewery tours run throughout the day with an experienced local guide, it finishes with a tutored beer tasting. The shop in the old malt house has unique gifts and merchandise, bar and function room.

Admire the magnificent Shire Horses, Nelson, Major, Winston and Lucas who still deliver to the local pubs and are a majestic site.

We brew the traditional way with British hops, malt and spring water from the spring at the brewery. The only buttons we press here are on a calculator!

What can I see and do at Hook Norton Brewery?

MEET THE SHIRE HORSES
Our four Shires Nelson, Major, Winston and Lucas are our pride and joy. Their strength and power combined with calm and patient temperament will inspire nostalgia. Charismatic Roger will entertain with tales ans stories, facts and a sprinkling of wit! The dray also makes regular deliveries to the local pubs of Hook Norton. A majestic site that is increasingly rare in today's modern age.

TAKE A TOUR OF A UNIQUE BREWERY
The tour starts off in the brewery museum then you set off with one of our team of experienced guides. Walking through the original brew house built in 1898 you will experience sights, smells and sounds of a traditional brewery, as well as the modern additions. Take the time to ask any of the staff what they are up to and why! Finishing off at the brewery bar for a guided tasting.

SAMPLE SOME GREAT HOOKY BEERS
Our bar stocks all the Hook Norton Brewery beers for you to try including seasonal and special unique brews from our micro brewery Crafty Ales. You can try before you buy to taste something different or new.

RELAX IN THE VISITOR CENTRE AND CAFE
A fabulous brewery shop and cafe. Wonderful gifts, mementos, merchandise and handmade cakes. Come along and browse for something unique or relax with a coffee or beer!

EXPLORE THE STEAM ENGINE
One of the last working examples of a brewery steam engine in the UK. It is up and running on the first Saturday of the month. An amazing, emotive site from yesteryear.

VISIT THE MUSEUM
The brewery museum holds many curiosities and historical items including photos of the family and building works, brewing equipment, models, and traditional machinery.
