The Cricketers Arms

About

In the shadows of the South Downs, this idyllic flint stone, 17th-century pub has a beautifully tended cottage garden to be proud of - the perfect place for lunch on a sunny day surrounded by blossoming trees and fragrant herbs. A warm welcome greets visitors in the three interconnecting bar areas that radiate a peaceful atmosphere, while the wood-burning stove helps visitors to escape cold winter nights. With many good walks on the doorstep, including the South Downs Way, the rustic dining rooms are nice and cosy for a pub lunch following a long winter ramble.

The Cricketers does not claim to be gastro but the traditional fare is cooked fresh to order, uses local produce and never fails to please. With daily changing blackboard specials to enhance the regular menu there’s something for everyone and at a reasonable price. One of the great glories at the Cricketers is the Harvey’s Ale, dispensed straight from the cask in perfect order, a big favourite with the locals.
