The Canteen
Portsmouth
Portsmouth
The Canteen is a waterfront café located in the historic barracks in the Hotwalls arts quarter.
With an enthusiastic team of chefs busy in the kitchen, The Canteen offers a delicious breakfast and lunch menu, complimented by an exquisite servery fully loaded with traybakes, scones and the famous Canteen Sausage Rolls!
The Canteen Deck is a must-see in all weathers. Located at the mouth of the harbour, it's the best spot to watch all the goings on in the Solent. You can get a front row seat of Ben Ainslie’s state-of-the-art catamarans, or the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier. They all pass by within inches of the deck, and are enjoyed by The Canteen's customers in the comfort of cosy blankets, or whilst enjoying a chilled Sauvignon on a hot day.
On sunny days throughout the summer months, be sure to sample the selection of Judes Ice Creams from the Ice Cream Hut located next to Hotwalls Studio No 1.
Great food, equally great coffee and a truly unique location combine to make an offering which you simply have to go and try for yourself.
So whether you just fancy a coffee or a full on feast, The Canteen will welcome you through its doors - and furry friends are very welcome too!
The Canteen is open 7 days a week from 8am – 5pm (6pm in the summer months).
