Berkshire is ready to welcome you for a year filled with heritage moments, cultural highlights and great days out across royal towns, riverside cities and beautiful countryside. From Reading and Newbury to Windsor and Maidenhead, you’ll find new experiences unfolding in every season.

2026 is a particularly special year. In Reading, this will be the moment when both the original Bayeux Tapestry and the UK’s full‑scale Victorian replica are in the same country for the first time — with the original arriving for a landmark exhibition at the British Museum from September 2026 to July 2027, while Britain’s full‑size 1886 replica remains proudly on display at Reading Museum. In the Royal Borough, new cultural highlights join the calendar and mix with the international renown favourites in Windsor & Maidenhead, including the launch of Long Walk Live, 26–27 June 2026, a brand‑new live music celebration on Windsor’s iconic Long Walk, and the returning Royal Windsor Horse ShowWindsor Flower Show and Parallel Windsor, bringing displays, colour, inclusivity and festival-vibes to Berkshire visitors.  2026 is a year of double centenaries in Berkshire, as Hurley Riverside Park celebrates 100 years beside the River Thames and the University of Reading marks its own milestone with Centenary Heritage Tours from February to December, offering a chance to discover historic campuses, leafy spaces and a century of stories.

From riverside walks and historic gardens to festivals, heritage anniversaries and cultural days out, Berkshire is the perfect place for a short break or longer escape. Start planning your 2026 adventure — your Berkshire experience is waiting.
