Diwali Light It Up

Reading
Celebrate Diwali with Kala The Arts as the town comes alive with light, music and movement on Saturday 18 October! Festivities begin at 4:15pm with a community stage performance in Town Hall Square, including Deep Listening, a new autumn piece inspired by nature and Devi-Light. At 5:15pm, parade participants gather beside M&S Foodhall, then at 5:30pm the Grand Lantern Parade sets off, filling Broad Street with colour until it reaches Halifax at 6:30pm.
This year’s theme, Devi, honours the power and beauty of the goddess and the natural world. Reading will glow with towering 17-foot puppets of Sita, Rama, Ganesh and their companions, surrounded by dozens of lanterns and light installations. Get ready for Broad Street to pulse with the beat of dhol drums, live music and dancers in beautiful costumes, inspired by the likes of goddesses, animals and mythic tales.
Come dressed in your brightest colours and experience the magic of music and dance lighting up the heart of Reading!
