The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is a hub for diverse events, some of which are unique to the county of Berkshire. The Changing of the Guard takes place all year round and can be watched for free in the streets of Windsor. Sat on the banks of the Thames, the river makes an idyllic backdrop to many outdoor events in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Some of Berkshire's top attractions are becoming increasingly family friendly thanks to an impressive selection of themed events. Racecourses in Windsor and Newbury put on shows with plenty of childrens' entertainment while the National Trust's Cliveden is worth a visit for Easter and Christmas events with any school holiday packed with activities.

Other major events in Berkshire include the Hungerford Food Festival (October), Truckfest in Newbury (Spring Bank Holiday Weekend), Mapledurham Food & Craft Festival (May Bank Holiday Weekend) and the Reading Festival (August).
