The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead events calendar is still bursting with events even when the summer holidays are over with the Big Ascot Food and Wine Racing Weekend (4 - 5 September), Windsor Festival (18 September - 11 October) and The Windsor Fringe (25 September - 17 October), all taking place over the autumn. 2026 is a particularly special year in Reading, when both the original Bayeux Tapestry and the UK's full‑scale Victorian replica are in the same country for the first time with the original arriving for a landmark exhibition at the British Museum from September 2026 to July 2027, while Britain's full‑size 1886 replica remains proudly on display at Reading Museum.
