Back for its 16th year - the Oxford Shakespeare Festival returns from the 22nd June - 15th August 2026.

This summer see three incredible live open air theatre shows in the castleyard of Oxford Castle and Prison.  Right in the heart of the city of Oxford, these summer productions by Wild Goose Theatre (previously Tomahawk Theatre), BMH Productions, and Siege Theatre bring Shakespeare's finest classics to live. 

Kicking off with:-

  • Shakespeares Julius Caesar -  22nd June until the 4th July 26
  • As the Roman Republic falters and Julius Caesar consolidates power, assassination sparks a struggle over Rome’s future
  • 19.30pm - doors open at 18.45

Followed by 

  • Macbeth - 6th July until 1st August 26
  • Transforming Oxford Castle & Prison into a world of ambition, prophecy, and bloody consequence
  • 19.30pm - doors open at 18.45

Finally

  • Romeo & Juliet - 3rd August to 15th August 26
  • Bold reimagining of the world’s greatest love story
