Ryde Carnival Main Procession
Ryde
Ryde
Joyous and inspirational, Ryde Carnival brings a dazzling end to Summer on the Isle of Wight. All are welcome to enjoy the entertaining parades that light up the coastal town with fun, colour and carnival spirit.
Ryde Carnival is the oldest carnival in the UK, dating back to the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. Today, the Carnival is run by a tiny, passionate group of volunteers with a strong community ethos.
The Main Procession starts on the seafront, heads up through the town and then finishes back by the sea on Ryde Esplanade. To view the carnival route map, please visit the carnival website.
The carnival is inclusive; everyone is welcome to take part as spectators or performers. Current performers include marching bands, royalty floats, community and family groups.
Join us in Ryde this September to mark the end of summer in spectacular style.
Free event - donations are welcome.
