Let's illuminate history with this fun and engaging craft activity!
The Tudors couldn't simply switch a light on to see where they were going and they had no electricity! Candles would light there way.
Learn how the Tudors made their candles and have a go at making one for yourself! Candles could be made from stinky tallow or from the more expensive beeswax. We even found the stub of a candle still in it's holder on board The Mary Rose!
Create a wonderfully flagrant beeswax candle to take home.
Craft activity is £1 per child, per candle.
Please note: no candles to be lit inside the museum or on site of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Image for illustrative purposes only.
