Walking with Alpacas:
On Tuesdays and Thursdays (and due to popular demand, Saturdays and Mondays have also now been added), throughout the summer school holidays, visitors to Fairytale Farm can walk with our amazing alpacas. Lead one of these enchanting creatures, feed and learn how to approach and pet an alpaca (alpacas are not naturally social creatures with anything other than another alpaca). It is a truly engaging experience.
Summer Holiday dates: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 22nd July to 2nd September 2023*.
When you buy your farm admission ticket, if you select a visit on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, you will be prompted to see if you would like to add Walking with Alpacas. Please note there are limited tickets available for this and it is on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are not offered a ticket this means that the sessions on that date have sold out.
*The pre-booked sessions are between 12 noon and 1.30pm; you will be asked to select a preferred session from those available at the time of your booking. Charge is £4 per person walking, with groups of up to 3 people walking an alpaca at any one time (standard Fairytale Farm admission also payable). Each walk will be escorted by an experienced animal handler and parents can accompany young children on the walk free of charge (one parent per child walking an alpaca).
Ferret Racing:
Operating every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer school holidays. Visitors who fancy a flutter on a ferret, just for fun, will be able to choose one of our Fairytale ferrets to win and cheer along as they race, at ferret pace, along the pipes.
Ferret racing will take part at 12 noon in Alfie and Friends animal area (3:30pm on Saturdays and Mondays).
