Abingdon Beer Festival

About

Celebrating its heritage, the Abingdon Beer Festival is held in one of the most important heritage buildings in the country - the remains of the great medieval Abbey of Abingdon, founded in the 7th century, the existing buildings are over 800 years old, now nationally scheduled and grade one listed.

Taking place over three days from Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd May 2026, mixing high quality food suppliers with a host of beers and lagers on tap and live music from local bands, this event is perfectly timed ahead of the early May bank holiday Monday.

Music is provided from:-

Wally Ukes and Gaffer Tape on Friday

The Greenway Project and Hard On Ya Ears - Saturday

Food and drink suppliers include:-

Fat Tabby, The Yafo Kitchen, Sift'd, along with a new cocktail bar for 2026 from 7pm - 99pm on Friday and Saturday.

Brewing and malting have taken place at Abingdon Abbey through its history, initiated by the monks for their own consumption, up to a gallon (eight pints) a day were consumed, before it became Abbey Brewery, including a major malt house. Beer continued to be brewed on the site for some 300 years until it was merged with Morlands in the late 19th century.
