Visiting the South East from the continent by ferry couldn't be easier, with a number of ferry operators running routes from France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain to ports in the South East England.  There are also around 182 sailings a day from various ports in the South East to the Isle of Wight and a host of smaller passenger ferries (mainly foot passengers) offering alternative ways of travelling to and from destinations in the South.

There are also direct ferry routes from Isle of Man, Isle of Scilly, Ireland and Norwary to and from the UK, but these do not arrive into the South East.

Isle of Wight

With around 182 sailings a day to the Isle of Wight it's easy to include a visit to the island as part of your South East holiday plans.  You can choose to sail from Portsmouth, Lymington or Southampton, arriving into Ryde, Fishbourne, Yarmouth, East or West Cowes.

Enjoy the unique experience of flying above the waves with a trip of the Hovertravel from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight.  This is the fastest way of reaching the Isle of Wight and only commercially operated hovercraft route in the world.

Wightlink ferries operates both foot and car passenger services from Portsmouth in Hampshire to Fishbourne, or Lymington in the New Forest to Yarmouth. Red Funnel operates a daily car and high-speed foot passenger service from Southampton to East or West Cowes.
