About

A National Trust property owned by the Rothschilds, this Renaissance-style chateau houses one of the finest collections of French 18th Century decorative arts in the world. The Victorian garden is considered one of the finest in Britain with a parterre, aviary, woodland playground, seasonal displays, fountains and a statuary. With wine and gift shops, restaurants and a plant centre, Waddesdon is a memorable day out for everyone. A full programme of events is organised throughout the year, including family events.

Little known facts:
1. At the bottom of the entry drive there was once a 9-hole golf course.
2. Waddesdon Manor had its own railways station, an extension of the Metropolitan line.
3. The west wing was added in 1889, the same year electricity was put in.
