Come and be amazed at the authentic sights, sounds and smells of the only steam-driven Victorian Brickworks left in the country. You can follow in the footsteps of the brickmakers to see how bricks were once made here by the million and experience what a Victorian factory with its huge machinery was like.
The ground floor celebrates the main factory buildings including the brickmaking machinery, huge drying sheds and kiln. There are more collections in the large first floor display area and indoor activities for children. Outside you can see older methods of making bricks. There really is something for everyone, lots of hands-on activities for children of all ages and plenty of space inside if the weather is poor.
