YOUR VISIT:
Box Office:
The Box Office is located at the side of the Theatre in Steephill Road. The Box Office is open from 10am-3pm Mon-Fri plus 10am-1pm on Saturdays. In addition, when there is a show later that day on Mon-Sat, the Box Office remains open all day from 10am until the start of the show. For Sunday shows the Box Office opens 2 hours before the show and remains open until the show starts. Pre-booked tickets for collection are picked-up from the Box Office, which also sells Theatre souvenirs.
Auditorium:
Auditorium seating is on two levels: the stalls and the balcony. The stalls are level and the balcony is on a slope. Access to the balcony is via stairs (there is no lift). In general, the auditorium opens 30 minutes before a show.
Bar:
Alcoholic drinks, including Isle of Wight beers, tea and coffee are available in the downstairs bar, accessed via stairs from the Box Office corridor, allowing theatregoers to relax before a show and avoid any rush to get to the Theatre on time.
The Bar opens 1 hour before the start of a show.
Historical Map Room:
When visiting the bar, don’t forget to see the adjacent historical Map Room, which was a local command and control centre during WW2 and is decorated with memorabilia from that time. Additional bar seating is available in the Map Room.
Sweetshop:
In the foyer you will find an English Heritage listed structure – the Sweetshop, which was formerly the Theatre Box Office. It opens before shows and during show intervals for those hard to resist treats.
Limited Mobility Access:
For those with limited mobility, the auditorium can be accessed on the level from the Theatre (private) car park. Access to the Box Office is on the level though there are a few steps from the Box Office corridor down to the auditorium. Limited mobility toilets are available in both the gents’ and ladies’ toilets in the foyer. A limited mobility toilet is situated adjacent to the downstairs bar.
