Situated in the charming village of Granborough, this 1600 coaching inn has been completely refurbished since it came under new ownership 2013, to create a pub and restaurant that is both cosy and traditional yet at the same time excitingly contemporary.

Inside, there are two very different restaurant areas, the larger high-ceilinged Oak Room and the more intimate Crown Room, both of which have an extremely warm, comfortable and welcoming feel. The large main bar, where bar snacks are served, has original beams, with an open fire at one end and a wine bar with a softer more comfortable feel, in which pre-dinner drinks and cocktails are served.

Outside, is a large terrace complete with pizza oven and BBQ and a bar when the weather allows. The large beautifully stocked garden is very well protected, making it ideal for families and there is a children’s play area.
Head Chef, Darren Wright, has worked in some the country’s most exclusive restaurants, and produces outstanding food. Everything that can be homemade is homemade and he knows how to make delicious and affordable pub grub as well as exceptional seasonal specialties, which is reflected in the main menu that changes each month.

The Crown Jewels menu takes it to another level with exceptional ingredients beautifully cooked and presented; a passion for seasonal produce means that special ingredients feature for a limited period, such as white truffles and porcini in the autumn.

Positioned in the depths of Aylesbury Vale surrounded by stunning open countryside, there are lots of walking and cycling options in the vicinity of this delightful country pub.
