Slough is home to Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens that were designed and laid out in the 1930’s by Edward White, a partner in Milner, White and Sons, a leading landscape architect firm of the day. The gardens are considered to be his best creation.
Another similar attraction is Dorneywood that is traditionally the country residence of a senior member of the Government, usually a Secretary of State or Minister of the Crown. It was given to us by Lord Courtauld-Thomson and it is administered by the Dorneywood Trust at no cost to the public or to the National Trust.
