A brand-new immersive experience by artist Matt Reed comes to Bognor Regis Esplanade until September 2025
The Bognor Regis Time Portal is a new, free to use, augmented reality experience, allowing visitors to get a glimpse of life in the 19th century at the time when wooden bathing machines that once lined the beach.
With this experience you will meet the Mary Wheatland, she was a bathing machine proprietor, lifesaver, and swimming teacher who worked on the beach for over sixty years. She is credited with saving over thirty lives from the sea, and was often called the "Mermaid of Bognor."
All's you need is a smartphone or tablet with a mobile signal to view and maybe headphones during busy times so you can hear the story.
