About

Get your skates on this festive season, as the city’s popular seasonal rink, Portsmouth On Ice, returns to Guildhall Square. Don't miss this magical season of fun on real ice, from Saturday 22 November 2025 until Sunday 4 January 2026.

Each skate session runs for one full hour and the rink will be open every day (except for Christmas Day) from 10am for general skates, with some 9am starts for specialist Tips and Tricks sessions (more on that below). The final skates of the day start at 8pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and 9.15pm Thursdays to Saturdays - with all sessions lasting for one full hour on the ice.

The rink is covered by a clear canopy, allowing for top-notch ice conditions and skating fun whatever the weather.

New for 2025: Tips and Tricks sessions!
Want to build your confidence or learn how to spin without ending up on your bum? The brand-new Tips and Tricks sessions can help! Led by experienced skaters, these relaxed and friendly sessions will guide you through the basics – and maybe even teach you a move or two. They're perfect for nervous newbies or anyone wanting to sharpen their skills.

Returning favourites:

  • SEND Sessions – Inclusive skating in a calmer environment, with reduced capacity and low noise.
  • DJ Nights – Get your groove on while you glide, with live DJs spinning festive favourites.
  • Family sessions, pre-schooler options, and group bookings – There’s something for every age and ability.

Ticket info:

  • Prices start from £13.50
  • Family tickets, concessions, and season passes available
  • Skate aids are available - it's recommended you add these to your advance booking to guarantee a skate aid
  • School and group bookings are welcomed - discounts and exclusive hire options will be available

Make the most of your trip to the ice rink and enjoy some hot food and drink at the nearby bars and restaurants, or by taking a short walk to Commercial Road, where the Christmas Market will return for 2025.
