From the 2nd - 5th June 2022,  the UK will come together to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.  A four-day extended bank holiday weekend of events and activities will celebrate Her Majesty's historic reign, becoming the first British monarch to have given 70 years of service.  

Across South East England, destinations, visitor attractions, accommodation providers and local residents are coming together to create a weekend to remember, full of celebration, festivals, music and events.  Red, white and blue bunting and flags will grace the streets, and a party atmosphere will fill the air. Britain has a rich history of street parties that date back to the end of the first world war, and this June will be no different.

What's on this Platinum Jubilee Weekend in South East England?

  • Join the Jubilee Picnic in the Park to celebrate 70 year's of  the Queens reign and watch the national Platinum Party at the Palace, staged by the BBC, on screens around the The Long Walk, Windsor, 4th June.
  • Celebrate Jubilee Weekend in style at Britain’s Greatest Palace. Join Blenheim Palace for a royally entertaining Bank Holiday weekend of events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, 2nd - 5th June. 
  • Explore Leeds Castle as its six famous queens are brought to life in a fast-paced, story-led show of crusaders, romantics, rebels and custard tarts! 2nd - 5th June
  • Head to Danesfield House Hotel for 'A Right Royal Tea Party', celebrate this unprecedented anniversary with afternoon tea and celebrate this historic milestone.
  • Jubilee Fifties Fete at Whitchurch Silk Mill, Basingstoke, a step back into the 1950s at the Mill with live music, games and entertainment, 3rd June.
  • Broadstairs Platinum Jubilee Party, Thanet, five days of family fun including live music, stand up comedy, street foods and workshops
  • Enjoy a special afternoon tea at the Tudor House and Garden, Southampton, 2nd & 3rd June. 
  • Worthing Jubilee Concert at Steyne Gardens, Worthing, rock your socks off or enjoy Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra synced to a laser light display. 3rd & 4th June
  • A giant party, Jubilee Party on the Green, to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s seventy years on the throne is being held by Walmer Town Council on Walmer Green on the Saturday of the June bank holiday Jubilee weekend.
  • Celebrate the Jubilee weekend with a traditional afternoon tea on the River Thames, Caversham, Reading, 4th June.
  • Its a whole lot of Jubilee fun in Basingstoke Town Centre, with crafts, stories and picnics for everyone to enjoy.
  • A "Darling" Celebration at Kent Life, Maidstone, with fun 1950s Darling Buds of May entertainment, there will be a real street party vibe and bunting galore, 2nd - 5th June.
  • Queen’s Platinum Jubilee gala procession & family fun day, Chichester, West Sussex, 4th June.
  • The Jubilee Beacon Trail, Reading running until Sunday 5 June, royal-themed augmented reality (AR) trail.
  • Join the Queen's Platinum Jubliee celebrations with a tradtion Street Party in Eton, 4th June.
  • Celebrate together with family and friends at the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South with their special Platinum Jubilee lunch, kids under 5 eat for free, 5th June.
  • Come along to Pencester Gardens, Dover, for the Platinum Jubilee Picnic in the Park on Sunday 5 June
  • Food lovers should head to Dorset this Platinum Jubilee weekend to enjoy an extended four day food festival in Christchurch and FREE long weekend seafood festival in Poole.

Beacon Lighting Events across South East England - 2nd June

Most major towns and cities in the South East will be lighting a beacon in recognition of The Queen’s long service.  It is hoped that more than 2,022 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, with one being lit in each capital city of Commonwealth countries.  Most lightings will take place at 9.45pm, some destinations have organised events and entertainment before hand.  Take a look at some of the places you can experience the beacon lighting events in South East England.
