About

Celebrating 40 years of Striding! Our much-loved 10 Mile & 10k road race is back - and this year is extra special as we mark 40 years of Sittingbourne Striders! Join us for a course that winds through beautiful countryside, rolling hills and all the feel-good vibes you could want on a Sunday run. Whether you're chasing a goal or simply love running in nature, this is your race.

Kent Science Park is a vibrant hub set across 65 acres of landscapes parklands in Sittingbourne. Home to a diverse community of innovative businesses, the park combines modern architecture with open green spaces and historic features, creating a relaxed and welcoming setting. For runners and supporters alike, the park offers excellent facilities on the day. The Hub café and restaurant will be open, keeping runners and their families fed and watered before and after the race. There will also be an indoor registrations area, along with accessible toilets, providing a comfortable and practical base. Making it a perfect backdrop for the Sittingbourne Striders race HQ.

Running for a Cause
This race raises valuable funds for The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust. This wonderful charity supports the Neonatal Unit at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham. Whilst the unit receives its standard funding via the NHS, as is right and to be expected, the charity tops up these funds to push the care provision to a gold standard. Over 1200 babies pass through the doors of the unit in a single year and the charity raises funds to buy the highly specialised and sophisticated equipment needed to provide the resources required to make time spent on the unit more comfortable for premature, poorly babies and their families.

We'd like to thank our main sponsor, Bayford Meadows, for their support. Bayford Meadows Kart Circuit is one of the UK's leading outdoor karting venues, set on a 12-acre site in Sittingbourne. Founded in 1997 by local motorsport enthusiast Gerry Lilley, the 1100m NKA / MSA-licensed circuit is renowned for its fast and consistent asphalt surface. Now managed by Corinne Murphy and her dedicated team, the venue caters to both leisure drivers and serious owner-drivers, offering a wide range of events including: adult and junior karting, group events, exclusive hires and MSUK sprint meetings.

Beyond motorsport, Bayford Meadows proudly supports the local community by providing a safe and traffic-free space for junior cycling and family running sessions in partnership with Sittingbourne Striders Juniors. The circuit offers an ideal environment for junior cycling sessions where qualified coaches help young athletes build confidence and essential bike-handling skills through fun, structured activities. Bayford Meadows also serves as a secure and floodlit track for all-ability junior and family running sessions, ensuring that children have a welcoming and protected space to stay active, learn new skills and enjoy sport at their own pace.
