Petworth House and Park

About

Visit Petworth House & Park for free for Heritage Open Weekend on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September.

Explore the extraordinary art collection in the striking state rooms of the Baroque inspired House. Take a stroll in the expansive 'Capability' Brown landscaped Park, where you might spot some of the fallow deer herd.

Relax in the Pleasure Garden, the perfect place for a picnic. Discover more about Petworth's history and collection on a free guided tour of the house - tickets allocated on a first come, first served basis. There will also be 10 minute highlight talks throughout the day. See the board by the house entrance for talk and tour times and topics on the day.

Our volunteers will be running free historical walks through Petworth Town, lasting approximately 1 hour. Discover the fascinating connections between Petworth House and the town, which have been intimately linked for 900 years. Walks run throughout the day so please ask our Reception Team for times, and collect your ticket at Church Lodge.

Visitors will also be able to see our exhibition 'Expressions in Blue: Monumental Porcelain by Felicity Aylieff', which features towering sculptures on display throughout the house and two monolithic obelisks in the ground.
