Parham House & Gardens

About

Parham is an Elizabethan mansion, built in 1557 in a distinctive E-shaped design from traditional stone. Idyllically situated within an ancient deer park beneath the South Downs, the house is home to an important collection of historic needlework, paintings, and period furniture.

Remarkably, Parham has remained a cherished family residence throughout its history, with only three families having lived there since the foundation stone was first laid.

The house features a grand Great Hall and an impressive Long Gallery—one of the longest in England—offering a sense of space and elegance. Its tranquillity and timeless beauty have remained largely unchanged over the centuries.

Surrounding the house are beautifully maintained gardens, including a four-acre Walled Garden with vibrant herbaceous borders, as well as delightful Pleasure Grounds.
