Look out for the free events (F) to help stretch your budget a little further, as keeping the kids entertained during the holidays doesn't have to cost the earth. Whether you're visiting for a half-term break away, enjoying time with friends and family, or exploring what's on your doorstep, take a look for a host of fun things to do.

What's on this Half-Term

When is February's Half Term?

The February Half Term Holidays begin on Saturday 14th February and run until Sunday 22nd February 2026 across the South East. This is the first half term in the UK in 2026. This holiday offers the chance to wrap up warm and get out and enjoy the great outdoors after the cold winter snap in January. The relatively early dark nights also mean stargazing is a great option at this time of the year.  With a fantastic mix of indoor and outdoor activities and events to enjoy it doesn't matter what the weather brings there is still plenty to do.

For short or weekend breaks, our Days Out and weekend breaks pages offer a wealth of ideas for things to do in Hampshire, Sussex, Kent, Dorset, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
