City Reflections: Illuminating Southampton's Stories

About

This February, step into the glow of City Reflections: Illuminating Southampton’s Stories - a dazzling new trail of light, history and storytelling across the heart of Southampton.

For four magical nights, six of the city’s most iconic heritage buildings will come alive with large-scale light projections, each inspired by stories from Southampton’s world-class Art, Maritime and Archaeology Collections. You’ll uncover hidden histories, rarely seen treasures, and captivating visuals that connect the city’s rich past with its people today.

This free, family-friendly trail invites visitors of all ages to explore Southampton’s Old Town and city centre like never before — and gives a glimpse into the future reopening of the Southampton City Art Gallery in 2026.

Whether you take it all in at once or wander over multiple nights, City Reflections is your chance to see the city after dark, reimagined in light.
