Nestled in the heart of England’s rolling South Downs in West Sussex, the beautiful Wiston Estate has been owned and managed by the Goring family since 1743. Under the aegis of winemaker Dermot Sugrue, the team produces award-winning sparkling wines of exceptional purity and finesse from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grown on their 6.5 hectare chalk vineyard.
Wiston offers Vineyard & Winery Tours by appointment April to October. Each scheduled tour begins with fresh coffee and biscuits in their Wine Barn overlooking the vines and is followed by an informative walk through the vineyard. There is then a short tractor-pulled trailer ride over the South Downs to visit the winery with our traditional Coquard Press (unique to the UK) where we follow the journey of a grape from harvest to finished bottle.
The tour concludes back at the Wine Barn with a tutored tasting of 4 of Wiston’s English Sparkling wines. These Scheduled Tours are £20 per person and last approximately 2.5 hours.
Also available are Food & Wine Pairing Tours, for £45 per person, where Wiston’s Vineyard & Winery Tour concludes with a tutored tasting of 5 of their English Sparkling wines each paired with canapés made from delicious local produce.
