About

Reaching from the South Downs to the outskirts of Brighton, Stanmer Park offers space to enjoy the great outdoors.  Perfect for family picnics, a stroll on the downs, a family cycle or as a way of joining the South Downs Way, the woods, chalky grasslands and 495 acres are part of the South Downs National Park.

A park for all seasons you can enjoy the beautiful pink Judas tree and bluebells, the wildflower meadow and tulip trees in Spring and early summer, whilst the foxfloves, lime trees and shade from the woods are glorious in summer.  The autumn colours from the woods and arboretum make Stanmer Park a colourful place to visit in the Autumn, with in whilst the holly berries bring colour against the bare trees.

Head out on two wheels and enjoy tge loop around the oark perimeter following the signs for the Woodland Trail (5 miles), or for a bigger challenge take on the 'Granny's Belt' (find more detials on website link) with starts and finishes at Stanmer.

One of the park’s most unique features and Stanmer Village, a great example of an 18th Century working village. The village boasts traditional farm buildings, the Permaculture orchard, Church and joice factory, as well as a traditional Tea Room.

Make sure you look out for Stanmer House, a Grade II listed Victorian Water Catcher is thought to be only one of two remaining in the UK. the Well and Donkey Wheelhouse and the Badgers Sculptures.  You'll also find a play park, a restored walled garden, a food and plant market, cafés, a tearoom, organic growing projects and outdoor wellbeing spaces.
