Set within over 600 acres of woodland, wildflower meadows and formal gardens, Herstmonceux Castle Estate is a wonderful place to explore and enjoy throughout the year.
Access to the castle interior is currently available via guided Castle Tours only, with tickets available to purchase onsite. Guided tours of the gardens and grounds are also available for those who would like to learn more about the estate.
The estate is open daily for the spring season, with closing time at 5pm and last admission at 3pm.
If you’d like to extend your visit, Bader Hall offers comfortable accommodation on site.

Closing time is currently 5pm with a last admission time of 3pm. We are currently open for seven days a week for the spring season.
Following a recent temporary closure, we are pleased to confirm that the café has reopened and is operating on Wednesdays - Sundays 10am - 4pm.
Please note we also have a memberships option which provides excellent value for all year round access to the Grounds and Gardens. These supersede the Season Tickets of previous years and come with additional benefits.
Please note that access to the Castle interior is currently only available with Castle Tour tickets which can be purchased onsite for £6 for adults and £3.00 for children - subject to availability. Tickets for guided tours of the gardens and grounds can be purchased onsite for £10 for adults and £5 for children - subject to availability.
