This award-winning blue flag beach is a nature goers dream as it is just a short walk from the beautiful cliff top nature reserve at Steamer Point. Combine a day by the sea, with the picturesque surroundings and easy access to the nature reserve just 7 minutues walk away. Friars Cliff beach is located just a mile east of Mudeford Quay and is made up of sand and shingle. The beach has magnificent views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay.

This beach is usually less busy than Avon Beach, and has its own designated water sports area at the eastern end. There are public toliets and a beach hut cafe serving delicious homemade cakes, with a number of the beach huts that line the promenade are available to hire privately. The beach has lifeguards during July and August.

Closest car park is Steamers Point, Sat Nav postcode is BH23 4UE, this car park is chargable and open everyday from 9am - 9pm. 

This is a dog friendly beach, however dogs are not allowed on the main beach between 1st May - 30th September, but are allowed on a lead between the wave wall and Groyne H4 at Highcliffe Beach all year round.
