The Bear and Ragged Staff

About

The Bear and Ragged Staff aims to tickle your taste buds with some good, honest British (mainly) food, well presented and served with a smile, made from locally sourced ingredients wherever practical. You only have to take a look at the countryside near to their Oxfordshire home to get inspiration from the local farmers produce and the game that roam in the fields nearby. These ingredients are then prepared and cooked absolutely freshly on the premises with tender loving care.

The Bear and Ragged Staff like to reflect the seasons and therefore change the menus four times a year to take advantage of what each season has to offer. In addition to an a la carte menu, there is also a lunch menu which features items from the main menu at a discounted price, and, in conjunction with the opening of their rooms, The Bear and Ragged Staff will soon open to the public for breakfast, too. Also a fun feature is the traditional Game Dinners, which showcases much of what is caught locally in the field nearby, between September and April each year.

The Bear takes pride in its Children’s menu as well, as they recognize that it’s sometimes hard for such little mouths to stomach such big portions! For the adults, the wine list has been chosen with great care, and a selection of cocktails, Ports and top-shelf spirits are also available to cleanse your palette.

The TripAdvisor website has rated The Bear and Ragged Staff between No1 and No4 since August 2011 out of over 200 Oxfordshire restaurants, so why not come down and taste the greatness for yourself! You’ll be glad you did.
