About

World-famous for the Farnborough International Air Show, which takes place every two years, Farnborough is a friendly Hampshire town surrounded by peaceful countryside.

Farnborough's location makes it an easy day trip from London (and a popular home for thousands of commuters to the capital). With Basingstoke Canal running through the centre, and nearby woodland and well-kept parks, it's a great place to escape from it all with a gentle stroll or bike ride.

As for the airshow, it's truly one of the most spectacular of its kind in the world. The 2015 event hosted over 150,000 visitors from across the globe. They were treated to incredible aerial thrills from military and stunt aircraft, as well as up-close static displays of more than 160 huge planes and helicopters. It's a fantastic day out for the entire family.

Things to do in Farnborough

  • Wander along the peaceful banks of the Basingstoke Canal with an ice-cream in hand.
  • Visit the perfectly maintained medieval church of St. Michael's Abbey. Here you'll find the tomb of Napoleon III (one of France's most celebrated military leaders).
