Willow basket

About

Using UK grown sustainably sourced willow, follow Louise Arthur from Rough Around the Hedges' expert advice as she shows you how to make a beautiful bowl-shaped basket with a willow or hazel handle filled with willow weaving rods. Perfect for fruit, eggs, vegetables, for use as a stylish shopper or for your wild foraging, Louise will show you techniques for frame basketry and you will come away with your very own basket in this day long workshop!

Suitable for beginners or those looking to hone their basketry skills, you will be given full tuition and materials. Some manual dexterity and patience will be required, and a full day of weaving can be tiring, though we will provide invigorating tea and cake! Please bring a packed lunch, sharp secateurs if you have them, and wear old trousers. If you have a recent injury, suffer from RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis please check with us first before booking.

Tickets are £75, includes materials and refreshments.
