Travel back to the 19th century at Victorian Weekend at Chiltern Open Air Museum, a lively Victorian living history event in Buckinghamshire and a perfect family day out near London.
Meet the colourful Ragged Victorians as they reveal what life was really like for working-class families in the 1800s, but keep an eye out for shady characters lurking among the crowd! Experience authentic Victorian re-enactment as costumed interpreters bring the sights and sounds of the era to life.
Watch the Victorian Rifle Brigade drill and recruit, showcasing 19th-century military uniforms, weapons and discipline. Step inside a traditional Victorian schoolroom to discover what education was like for children of the time, and remember mind your manners or face the consequences!
For lighter entertainment, take a ride on the traditional Victorian swing boats and enjoy a taste of classic fairground fun.
